Fun Ways To Celebrate Mother's Day Near Or Far

Mum's are that one special one person we turn to no matter our age or where we live and I'm sure there are a lot of Mum's out there who have been putting in the extra yards entertaining demanding young ones and lonely Nan's missing their grandkids thanks to Coronacation.

Do not tell my Mum I have posted her picture for the world to see! I think she looks lovely though - don't you agree?

Yes indeed, this Mother's Day really deserves to be celebrated even though we may have to do things a little differently. Whatever the case may be, here is a short list of easy, fun and creative ways to celebrate and make your Mum or Nan feel special!

So let's get started!

SEND MUM A HEARTFELT HANDWRITTEN CARD

What better than time to open up and let Mum know how much she means to you? Mother’s Day is the perfect time to put pen to paper, something we increasingly forget to do in these technology based times. It's the perfect way to share your feelings and fond memories in a way that can be cherished forever. There is something truly special about a handwritten message and if anyone deserves one it's your Mum. I also think a handwritten card in the mail is a lovely and rare surprise these days!

If you're after something modern and fresh, you should definitely check out talented local artist Hannaa A. She's crafted her own original designs into a beautiful card for Mother's Day (pictured below) and I totally love it! The card is unique, printed on high quality card stock paper, the inside quote is beautifully worded and for a tiny $5 you can't beat the price either!

SAY IT WITH FLOWERS

A timeless tradition that never goes out of style! A beautiful bouquet of flowers is always a lovely surprise and has a way of making anyone feel extra special. I highly recommend WA Florists based in Balcatta. They are my go-to guys whenever I need fresh flowers for wedding or birthday cake orders, gift giving or to spruce up my home with a bit of freshness and colour.

Their blooms are beautiful and long lasting - and their floral designs are very creative! Choose from a range of both fresh and dried arrangements (which are all the rage at the moment) at some of Perth's best prices.

During this period they are also offering ZERO CONTACT delivery for your peace of mind and are making deliveries over Saturday 9th and Mother’s Day - Sunday 10th of May. If you are a Perth local I would definitely give them a go!

Homemade personalised gifts are budget friendly, make a wonderful way to keep busy if you are self-isolating and really are a gift from the heart. Here are some fun ideas to try!

  • Spoil Mum with some delicious homemade cookies! Cookies are generally very quick and forgiving and you can make your cookies look extra lovely by gifting in a glass jar, pretty box or decorative tin.

Greek Style Butter Cookies Are Simple & Delicious!

SOME OF OUR FAMILY FAMILY FAVS

Fyi, the Hazelnut Crescent Cookies are super popular with just a few ingredients and are flour-free and the Greek Style Butter Cookies are super fast and easy. The Jaffa Crackle Cookies are so full of orange and chocolate flavour and the Spelt Choc-Chip Cookies are tummy friendly and delicious. Damn this is making me hungry!

Okay, I digress...let's get back to it...

  • Create a photo book with pictures of the family with Mum. A photo book makes a beautiful coffee table accent and a wonderful way to remember precious memories. You can do this the classic way with a gorgeous photo album and your favourite physical prints or you can use a photo book creator like Kmart's Photobook Service which collates your favorite images and prints them directly on pages that are then bound into a delightful photo book!

  • Bake up a batch of beautiful fresh scones presented with some miniature preserves in a cute basket! Here's my essential recipe for super easy 5 Minutes Scones that never fail to impress and make the perfect base to a charming Devonshire Tea - did someone say breakfast in bed???

  • If you're lucky enough to be with Mum on Mother's Day why not surprise her with a fun Mother's Day Treasure Hunt! Chocolates, a mini bottle (or 2) of champagne, candles, jewellery, her favorite lip balm or lipstick, a card, - there are SO MANY cute things you could choose from to hide around your home or garden (if the weather permits) for something a little different. And don't forget to record the fun and create some new lovely memories.

  • Spoil Mum with some personalised coupons/vouchers. I read some hilarious ones including "No Arguing For One Day" and "One Uninterrupted Afternoon Nap" and I can think of quite a few Mum's who would like several of these to cash in! There are heaps of free sites where you can download printable templates that you can use. Here are a couple of cool sites I came across:

(these guys also have cute blank coupons you can personalise and fill in yourself)

(ready to go as pictured below)

So hopefully you've been inspired, I really did enjoy creating this fun post. Here's wishing all the Mums & Nan's out there a very Happy Mother's Day - and here's hoping that by next year someone will be wishing me the same!

P.S. I'd love if you would join my tribe and sign up or show me some love (there's a little heart you can click) at the bottom of this post, xo
